For this year’s National Symposium in Surabaya, the scientific presentation sessions will be conducted in the form of e-poster presentations to ensure a more efficient and effective experience. Participants will also have the option to submit their manuscripts for the Scientific Award competition. The judging process for the Scientific Award will be conducted separately from the symposium schedule, and all finalists who qualify for the next stage will be contacted individually by the organizing committee for further evaluation.
The Scientific Award is an integral part of the SIMNAS IKARGI XII series of events. This competition has been routinely held as part of the annual national symposium activities and is expected to serve as a catalyst for advancements in dental radiology science and technology in Indonesia. The annual scientific competition aims to encourage high-quality and diverse research, fostering greater recognition of dental radiology while increasing its scientific and practical contributions to dental clinicians.
This scientific e-Poster session is held in partnership with SINTA-4 accredited Jurnal Radiologi Dentomaksilofasial Indonesia (JRDI), the official scientific publication of IKARGI. For Scientific Award winners who wish to publish their manuscripts in JRDI, a fast-track review and publishing process will be provided, ensuring quicker evaluation and publication in the journal.

Guidelines
Preparing e-Poster Submission
- To submit a manuscript for e-Poster presentation, participants will be required to provide their registration number during submission. The registration number is sent in the invoice and confirmation email after the committee confirms your payment.
- Participants must submit an abstract, full paper (if participating in the Scientific Award), and e-Poster file in PDF format by the deadline set by the committee using the provided submission link. Failure to submit the required materials by the specified timeline will result in the participant being considered as withdrawn from the e-Poster Presentation.
- The abstract format must follow the guidelines of the Jurnal Radiologi Dentomaksilofasial Indonesia (JRDI), the official scientific publication of IKARGI (available at: http://jurnal.pdgi.or.id/index.php/jrdi/index) or use the provided template below.
- The e-Poster Presentation at SIMNAS IKARGI XII focuses on topics related to dentomaxillofacial radiology, aligning with this year’s slogan, “Xplore Imaging Insights” and the theme, “Elevate Diagnostic Excellence Beyond Images: Advancing Radiological Frontiers.” Participants are encouraged to submit research that contributes to the advancement of diagnostic imaging and radiological innovations in dentistry.
- The presentation is divided into three categories: Original Research Article, which presents new findings or advancements in dentomaxillofacial radiology; Case Report, which provides detailed analyses of unique or rare cases with significant radiological insights; and Review Article, which offers comprehensive reviews of existing literature on relevant topics in the field. All submissions should align with the symposium’s theme and contribute to the scientific and clinical development of dentomaxillofacial radiology.
- All e-Posters accepted for Simposium Nasional IKARGI XII will be displayed digitally on high-resolution monitors. Authors are required to be present at their assigned monitors during the designated presentation period. During this time, authors should be available for discussion of their e-Poster (schedule to be announced).
- To participate in the Scientific Award Competition, authors must upload the full paper of their manuscript during submission. The full paper will be automatically evaluated by the panel of judges. All selected finalists will be individually notified by the committee regarding the next phase of judging.
Submitting Your Abstract & Full Paper
Submit an abstract and full paper (for Scientific Award participants) via the submission page on SIMNAS IKARGI site.
All submissions must be in English and follow the JRDI guidelines or the provided template, saved in PDF format.
Abstract and Full-Paper Submission deadline: May 31, 2025.
Accepted abstracts will receive a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) via email, including an e-Poster number and a final submission link.
Creating and Designing e-Poster
E-Poster Size and Orientation

All e-Posters must be designed in portrait orientation, ensuring that all content (text, data, photos, and figures) fits within a single window/slide.

The monitors used for the e-Poster presentation have a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and a display size of 52.3 cm × 93.3 cm (Portrait orientation). All presenters are required to set the resolution of their e-Posters to match the monitor specifications to ensure optimal display quality.

If designing the e-Poster in PowerPoint (PPT), all information must be contained within one (1) slide only. Use Page Setup, select Slide Size: “Custom” (Width: 52 cm, Height: 93 cm), and set it to Portrait (vertical) orientation. Save the e-Poster file in PDF format before submission.
Essential Information to Include on E-Poster
E-Poster should be written ONLY in English.
E-Poster Number should be stated on the top left corner.
Title of the E-Poster should be brief and match with the submitted abstract (on the center-top side).
Names and affiliations of all authors (each author to be marked with superscript Arabic number (such as 1, 2) with their corresponding institute affiliation and their addresses.
The logo of the affiliated institution/university should be placed on the upper left-hand corner, whilst the first author’s color photograph (passport style) should be placed on the upper right-hand corner of the E-Poster.
Arial font should be used throughout the E-Poster with such clarity that it could be read from 1.5 meters distance. The title and subheadings should be written in bold. Italics should be avoided as it would be harder to read from a distance.
Please be considerate when using colors for the presentation, keep only 2-3 colors as this would be a formal scientific E-Poster presentation. Please select background colors that contrast well with the font to allow easier reading of your text. Avoid background with bright or dark color and full of texture as this will distract readers.
Make sure that any photographs or figures being used in the E-Poster are with sufficient size so that they are clearly visible, with a minimum 300-dpi resolution. The number of photographs should be limited to only those that are essential and relevant for the E-Poster (preferable not exceeding 4-6 photos). Do not submit any photographs or pictures that are not relevant to the text, such as cartoon characters, etc. Photographs for case report presentation should be in standard quality for all extraoral/intraoral photos and pre-treatment/post-treatment photos. Radiographs view must be in good quality and have minimal distortion.
Graphs and tables should be well organized and the font used should be of a size that is easy to read.
Content of E-Poster presentation:
Original Research (Introduction, Objectives, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusion, References and Acknowledgment).
Case Report (Introduction, Objectives, Case Operation Procedure, Discussion, Conclusion, References and Acknowledgment).
Review Article (Introduction, Review Studies, Discussion, Conclusion and References).- Declaration of Conflict of Interest for all authors; if there are no relevant conflicts, this must be included on the E-Poster.
- Contact details (optional), so that interested delegates may contact you.
- Data must be given in units that are generally accepted in scientific publications (international metric system is preferred).
