Makassar is honored to once again host this prestigious symposium, which in 2026 marks a groundbreaking milestone, as it will be held in conjunction with The 3rd International Joint Conference of Faculty of Dentistry, Hasanuddin University, Indonesia, and Niigata University, Japan. With the theme “The Future of Imaging – Imaging The Future, in Dentomaxillofacial Diagnosis and Treatment Planning,” this event introduces a breakthrough format, merging national expertise with global academic collaboration to advance innovation, research, education, and clinical excellence in dentomaxillofacial radiology.
Anchored in the Bugis-Makassar values of Sipakatau, Sipakalebbi, and Sipakainge (respect, honor, and kindness), this symposium embraces scientific rigor alongside the human dimensions of knowledge: warmth, sincerity, hospitality, and authentic connection. I’m so excited to find out what the future of Dento and Maxillofacial Radiology looks like!
Let’s find out at the SIMPOSIUM NASIONAL IKARGI XIII, which is being held alongside the 3rd International Joint Conference of the Faculty of Dentistry at Hasanuddin University and Niigata University in Makassar on 5–6 June 2026.
Our theme, ‘The Future of Imaging – Imaging the Future’, is both a question and an invitation. It encourages us to envisage the next frontier of diagnostic technology and to play an active role in creating it. Through our collaboration with Hasanuddin University and Niigata University, we are bridging local expertise with global innovation and offering Indonesian Dento and Maxillofacial Radiologists and residents a unique insight into international developments.
This partnership between IKARGI, Hasanuddin University, and Niigata University highlights our joint dedication to breaking boundaries and promoting international academic exchange. To all Dento and Maxillofacial Radiologists and residents across Indonesia, this symposium is your opportunity to engage with global perspectives, deepen your expertise and contribute to the evolution of our field.

As the Chair of the Indonesia Association of Dentomaxillofacial Radiology (IKARGI) for the Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Maluku, and Papua region, it is my great pleasure and honor to welcome you to the 13th National Symposium of IKARGI, which proudly returns to Makassar after nearly eight years following the success of the 2018 symposium held in our beloved city. We extend our sincere appreciation to the Central Board of IKARGI and the Faculty of Dentistry, Hasanuddin University, for their full support, as well as to the Faculty of Dentistry, Niigata University, Japan, for their collaboration in this joint conference, which significantly enhances the academic value, international engagement, and overall impact of this scientific event. With hope and anticipation, we eagerly await the opportunity to welcome you to Makassar for a meaningful scientific exchange, strengthened collaboration, and a forward-looking advancement of dentomaxillofacial radiology.
